Asenovgrad – one of the most emblematic Bulgarian wineries, located in the Rhodope foothills. Known for its long-standing traditions and for being among the most significant producers of the authentic Bulgarian Mavrud variety. The winery combines classical approaches with modern vinification methods.
Terroir: The vineyards in the Asenovgrad region are located on alluvial-clay and sandy soils, with good drainage and excellent conditions for growing Mavrud. The climate is moderately continental with warm summers and cool evenings, which contributes to the development of a dense body, spicy notes and deep aromas.
Vinification: The grapes are hand-picked at optimal physiological ripeness and undergo precise selection. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature with extended maceration to extract rich color and structure. The wine is aged in oak barrels (usually French or Bulgarian oak), which adds complexity, density and elegance.
