Villa Yambol – one of the oldest and most established wineries in Bulgaria, founded in 1924. The winery is located in Southeastern Bulgaria, in the area of the town of Yambol, part of the Thracian Lowland – a region with a long tradition in winemaking. “Villa Yambol” is known for its attention to local varieties and its desire to express the authentic Bulgarian terroir through a contemporary style.
Terroir: The vineyards are located in the Thracian Lowland, near the town of Yambol. The region is characterized by a warm continental climate, long and dry summers and rich clay-humus soils, which contribute to the intense aromatic profile and ripe tannins of Mavruda.
Vinification: The grapes are hand-picked and undergo strict selection. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature with prolonged contact with the skins to extract color and tannins. Part of the wine is aged in oak barrels to develop depth and softness.
