Produced by Domaine d’Astros, a historic chateau located in the heart of Provence, between Aix-en-Provence and Saint-Tropez, in the French Côtes de Provence AOC appellation. The estate has over 800 years of history and is now managed by the tenth generation of the Astros family. The winery is known for its commitment to organic farming and sustainable viticulture, certified AB (Agriculture Biologique). The vineyards are cultivated entirely by hand, and the grapes are harvested in the early hours of the day to preserve maximum freshness of the fruit.
Varietal composition: Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah
Terroir:
The vineyards are located in the Argens Valley, in the Var region, on red limestone-clay soils rich in iron oxides, which give their wines structure, depth and delicate minerality. The climate is typically Mediterranean – with plenty of sunshine, mild winters and sea breezes, which ensure aromatic freshness and balanced acidity in the Domaine d’Astros rosé.
Vinification:
The grapes are hand-picked, then gently pressed and cold macerated to extract the finest aromas and delicate pink colour. Fermentation takes place at a low, controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, which guarantees freshness and a pure aromatic profile. The wine is bottled young to fully express the characteristic lightness and elegance of Provence.
