Terra Tangra Winery – a family-run and certified organic winery located at the foot of the Sakar Mountain, Southeastern Bulgaria. The winery is known for its attention to local varieties and sustainable winemaking, combining manual labor and modern winemaking practices.
Varietal composition: Mavrud and Cabernet Sauvignon
A blend with Cabernet Franc is also possible in certain vintages.
Terroir: The vineyards are located in the Harmanli and Sakar region, at an altitude of 300–450 m. The soils are poor in humus, stony-clayey, with good drainage, and the climate is transitional-continental with influence from the White Sea. This contributes to a slow and complete grape ripening cycle with an excellent balance between sugars and acids.
Vinification:
The grapes are hand-picked in the early morning hours and undergo a gentle selection. After a short maceration (4–6 hours), gentle pressing and fermentation at low temperature in stainless steel vessels are applied. The wine is aged briefly on the fine lees for additional volume and freshness.
