Bodegas Faustino – one of the most famous and prestigious wineries in Rioja, based in Ojon, Spain, world-renowned for its tradition of creating classic wines with long aging and pronounced terroir character.
Varietal composition: Tempranillo (with a small share of Garnacha, Graciano and Masuelo – typical of the appellation).
Terroir: The vineyards are located in the Rioja DOCa region, with predominantly calcareous-clay soils and a temperate-continental climate with Atlantic influence. These conditions provide an excellent balance between ripeness, freshness and elegance.
Vinification: The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, followed by aging for a minimum of 12 months in oak barrels (mainly American oak), typical of the Crianza category, and additional bottle aging before release.
Organoleptic characteristics
Aroma: Complex and harmonious – ripe red fruits, cherry and strawberry, complemented by notes of vanilla, sweet spices, coconut and light toast.
Taste: Medium to full-bodied with a well-formed structure, soft tannins, balanced acidity and a long, elegant finish.
Food pairing: Excellent with red meats, lamb, veal, traditional Spanish dishes, tapas and mature cheeses.
Serving temperature: 16°–18 °C.
Aging potential: 5–7 years after harvest.
