Produced by Kapatovo Family Estate – a family winery located in the village of Kapatovo, Petrich Municipality, in southwestern Bulgaria. The winery was founded in 1997 and has 174 acres of its own vineyards, cultivated with attention to terroir and sustainable practices.
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
Terroir: The vineyards are located in the Struma Valley region, on sandy-clay soils with good drainage. The climate is moderately continental with influence from the Mediterranean Sea, which favors slow ripening and the accumulation of aromatic compounds.
Vinification: The grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected. After fermentation, the wine is aged for more than 6 months in French oak barrels Ermitage and Berthomieu, which gives the wine additional structure and complexity.
