Elena Walch – the winery is located in the area of the village of Tramin/Termeno, province of Bolzano-Alto Adige, Northern Italy. The winery is known for its precise approach to viticulture, small-scale production and expression of the specific terroir of Alto Adige.
Varietal composition:
100% Pinot Bianco.
Terroir:
The vineyards are located on steep slopes with light limestone and porphyry soils, at altitudes of about 250 to 900 m above sea level. A combination of pure Alpine air and Mediterranean influence creates freshness and minerality in the wine.
Vinification:
Hand picking of the grapes. After harvesting, the grapes are carefully pressed, the juice is subjected to static clarification, then fermentation at a controlled temperature (~18-20 °C) in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged on the fine lees (sur lie) in the same vessels for several months.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Aroma: Bright with delicate yellow-cream reflections; on the nose, notes of fresh green apple, nectarine, white flowers and aromatic herbs are felt.
Taste: Elegant fullness, pronounced minerality, lively and clean acidity, which leads to a fresh and long finish.
Food pairings:
Excellent as an aperitif. Suitable for light appetizers, salads, seafood, white meat, vegetable dishes and delicate cheeses.
Serving temperature:
10-12 °C.
Aging potential:
Consumption is recommended for the next 3-5 years to enjoy the optimal freshness and pronounced terroir.
