Kurt Angerer is a family-run winery from Kamptal, one of the most prestigious wine regions in Austria. The winery works with vineyards located at the foot of the Austrian Alps, practicing sustainable farming and minimal intervention vinification to create terroir wines with a pronounced character and energy.
Varietal composition: 100% Grüner Veltliner
Terroir: The single-vineyard gravel plot is located on light, well-drained gravelly and sandy soils with a southeast exposure. The cool climate and strong day-night temperature amplitudes in Kamptal contribute to the development of aromatics and the preservation of lively acidity.
Vinification: The grapes are hand-picked at optimal ripeness. After careful pressing, slow fermentation at low temperature in stainless steel tanks follows. The wine is aged on fine lees for several months, without malolactic fermentation, in order to highlight the authentic freshness and minerality.
Organoleptic characteristics
Aroma: Bright and clean, with nuances of green apple, citrus, white pepper and juicy herbs.
Taste: Precise and fresh, with a tight structure, distinct minerality and a long dry finish.
Food pairings: Goes well with Wiener schnitzel, rice dishes with peas and lemon, green bean dishes, baked trout or tuna and celery salads.
Serving temperature: 9°–11°C
Aging potential: Up to 4–5 years after harvest
