Produced by La Scolca, a historic winery founded in 1919 in Piedmont, Italy. The winery is a pioneer in the production of Cortese wines and is known for its elegant and terroir-expressed wines.
Varietal composition: Cortese, Pinot Nero
Terroir: The vineyards are located in the hilly area of Gavi, on calcareous-clay soils. The climate is temperate with the influence of the Ligurian Sea, which favors slow ripening and the accumulation of aromatic compounds.
Vinification: The grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected. After a short maceration and gentle pressing, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. The wine is briefly aged on the lees to give texture and complexity.
