Stratsin Winery – a boutique Bulgarian winery located near the village of Stratsin, in the Sungurlar Valley region. The region is known for its warm climate, long sunny days and favorable conditions for growing red varieties. The winery follows modern practices and precise grape selection to achieve wines with character and individuality.
Varietal composition
100% Syrah (Syrah) – a variety that develops density, spiciness and rich fruit in the region.
Terroir
Soils: clay-stony and well-drained terrain
Climate: warm continental with a pronounced Mediterranean influence
Altitude: about 250–300 m
These conditions ensure slow and even ripening, high phenolic maturity and concentrated aromas.
Vinification
- Hand picking and precise selection of grapes
- Cold maceration to extract color and aromas
- Controlled fermentation in stainless steel vessels
- Aging in oak barrels (French or combination) for 6–12 months – adds spiciness, structure and complexity
- Final stabilization and bottling in the Soulmate series
Organoleptic characteristics
Aroma:
Ripe dark fruits – blackberry, black cherry, blueberry, combined with white and black pepper, light smoky notes, sweet spices, violets and chocolate nuances.
Taste:
Dense, structured and well balanced. Soft tannins, good depth and volume in the mouth. The aromas move to candied fruits, baked plum, cocoa and fine vanilla. Finish – long, velvety and spicy.
