Variety: 50% Merlot + 30% Cabernet Sauvignon + 20% Cabernet Franc
ORMA was created in 2005 with the acquisition of the eponymous estate in Bolgheri, famous for its majestic tree-lined avenue, so dear to Giuseppe Carducci.
The vineyard area is of great depth, due to the red, stony soils, the constant ventilation from the sea and the intense light. The surrounding woods and hills create an ideal microclimate for viticulture, with the peculiarity of improving the night/day temperature ranges. The vineyards are located in marine stratified soils and are particularly rich in minerals. The combination of climate, soil and human labor sanctify Bolgheri as a great terroir for wines of remarkable finesse and elegance.
ORMA is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, grown on 7.5 hectares of the estate. The elegance of Merlot, the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon and the finesse of Cabernet Franc find a harmonious combination thanks to the skillful use of the barrique. Elegant and sumptuous, able to best tell the history of the territory and its potential, it best expresses the imprint of the Moretti Cuseri family on an area of excellence in winemaking.
Orma is a wine, refined in its abundance, that perfectly captures the territory of Bolgheri, the oenological jewel of the Maremma.
*We produce five wines in this estate: Orma Toscana IGT, Passi di Orma Bolgheri DOC, Rosso di Orma, Bianco di Orma Toscana IGT and Bolgheri Superiore, with the utmost respect for the territory and the vines, an elegant and intriguing interpretation of the historical blends of Bordeaux. It all comes down to determining and balancing the percentages of the different grape varieties with oenological skills to create complex, multifaceted and harmonious wines, while highlighting the best qualities of the different varieties. We harvest all the grapes individually by hand when they reach peak ripeness and then start blending them through the various stages of vinification. Remember that to make an exceptional wine, you need exceptional grapes
