Alexandra Estate is a modern boutique winery located in the Sandanski-Petrich region, where the climate is the most Mediterranean in Bulgaria. The winery is distinguished by bold blends inspired by the styles of Southern France and the Rhone Valley. Its wines are elegant, well-structured and highly expressive. The blend of Mourvèdre, Syrah and Viognier is characteristic of their innovative approach and pursuit of complexity and balance.
Terroir – Sandanski-Petrich (Thracian Lowland)
The region is known for its warm climate and the possibility of excellent ripening of Mediterranean varieties.
Soils: sandy-clay and stony, well-drained, contributing to the concentration and richness of aromas.
Climate: the warmest wine region in Bulgaria, with long summers and mild winters; ensures excellent phenolic ripening and depth of flavor.
Vinification
The grapes are hand-picked and selected. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The Viognier is vinified separately and a small percentage is blended with the red varieties, which contributes floral nuances and elegance - a technique inspired by Côte-Rôtie. Part of the wine is aged in oak barrels (French oak), adding complexity, spices and structure.
