Orbelia Winery – a boutique family winery located in the village of Kolarovo, at the foot of the Belasitsa Mountain, near the town of Petrich, Southwestern Bulgaria. The region is famous for its mild Mediterranean climate, which provides ripe and concentrated wines with fine balance and a clearly expressed terroir character. The Via Aristotelis series is a symbol of the winery’s sophistication and philosophy – to create wines with character and soul.
Terroir:
The vineyards are located on southern slopes with exposure to the sun and with excellent air drainage. The soils are alluvial-clay with stony areas, rich in minerals. The climate is Mediterranean with continental influence, with warm days and cool nights, which allow for slow ripening of the grapes and the development of an intense aromatic profile.
Vinification:
The grapes are hand-picked at optimal ripeness and undergo strict selection. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, with prolonged contact with the skins to extract color and structure. The wine is then aged for 8–10 months in oak barrels, which gives it softness, complexity and noble character.
