Château du Cedre is an emblematic estate in the Cahors appellation, recognized for its modern interpretation of Malbec – wines with depth, elegance and a clearly expressed terroir character.
Variety:
Malbec
Terroir:
The vineyards are located in the Lo River Valley, Cahors appellation, Southwestern France. The soils are limestone with clay elements, and the climate is temperate with continental influence, which ensures optimal ripening and concentration of the grapes.
Vinification:
The grapes are harvested at full phenolic maturity. This is followed by classic vinification with controlled fermentation in stainless steel and maceration to extract color and structure. Part of the wine is aged for a short period in vessels that preserve the fruity character, without a dominant influence of oak.
