Merryvale Vineyards – a prestigious family winery founded in 1983 and located in Napa Valley, California.
The Starmont line reflects Merryvale’s philosophy of sustainable viticulture, modern winemaking and elegant style, representing the best of Napa and Sonoma. The winery is certified as a Napa Green Winery for its commitment to ecological production.
Terroir:
The grapes come primarily from the Napa Valley and North Coast AVA, from vineyards located on well-drained clay-limestone soils.
The climate is warm and sunny, but with cool nights thanks to the proximity of the Pacific Ocean - a factor that ensures even ripening and preservation of freshness.
Vinification:
After hand-picking and selection, the grapes are fermented in steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with periodic immersion of the cap for optimal extraction.
Aging continues for 14–16 months in French oak barrels, of which about 30% are new, to achieve a balanced and complex style.
