Orbelia Winery – a family winery founded in the village of Kolarovo, at the foot of Belasitsa Mountain, near the town of Petrich, Southwestern Bulgaria. The winery is known for its individual approach to each harvest, working with local and international varieties and striving for high quality and terroir expression.
Terroir:
The vineyards are located on the southern slopes of Belasitsa Mountain, near the border with Greece and North Macedonia. The area is characterized by a mild Mediterranean climate, warm days and cool nights, which ensures optimal ripening and a high concentration of aromas. The soils are alluvial-clay with stony inclusions, providing excellent drainage and giving minerality and depth to the wines.
Vinification:
The grapes are hand-picked and carefully sorted. After separate fermentation of each variety at a controlled temperature, the wine is blended and aged in oak barrels for several months to achieve harmony between aromas, structure and taste.
