Château Purcari – an emblematic winery from Moldova with a history dating back to 1827, located in the Stefan Vodo region, known for its combination of tradition, modern approach and wines with international recognition.
Varietal composition: Cabernet Sauvignon.
Terroir: The vineyards are located in the southeastern part of Moldova, near the Dniester River. The region is characterized by a temperate continental climate, long sunny summers and calcareous-clay soils, which ensure excellent ripeness and structure of the grapes.
Vinification: The grapes are harvested at optimal phenolic ripeness. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature with prolonged maceration to extract color and tannins. Part of the wine is aged in oak barrels, which gives additional complexity without dominating the varietal character.
Organoleptic characteristics
Aroma: Intense and clean – notes of blackcurrant, ripe black fruits, cherry and subtle nuances of vanilla, spices and dark chocolate.
Taste: Medium to full-bodied with well-integrated tannins, balanced freshness and an elegant, fruity finish.
Food pairing: Suitable for grilled red meats, veal, lamb, pasta with meat sauces and semi-hard cheeses.
Serving temperature: 16°–18 °C.Aging potential: 3–5 years after harvest.
