Banfi – one of the most famous and respected wineries in Tuscany, founded by the Mariani family and located around Montalcino. The winery is world-renowned for the quality, innovation and precision of its wines. “Centine” is among its most popular series – a wine created in a modern style, which combines Tuscan character and international elegance. The blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot offers softness, balance and exceptional accessibility.
Terroir
The vineyards for Centine are located in the southern part of Tuscany – on hilly terrain with limestone-clay soils rich in minerals. The region is characterized by a warm Mediterranean climate, with many sunny days and cool nights, which allows for excellent ripening of the grapes. This combination provides both fruitiness and softness, as well as freshness – key to the style of the wine.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and undergo selection. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, and maceration is moderate to achieve good structure but soft tannins. Part of the wine is aged for a short period in oak barrels, which adds complexity without dominating the fruity character.
