Staro Oryahovo Winery is a small artisanal winery located near the Black Sea coast, in an area with a cool maritime climate and old winemaking traditions. It works with a focus on the vineyards and terroir, creating limited edition wines with a distinct personality.
Variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Location of the vineyards: Tsonevo village, Varna region
Altitude: 130 – 160 m.
Soils: gray forest, alkaline, rich in clay, calcium and other minerals
Climate: the sea breeze and the sun exposure create a balanced environment in which the grapes combine ripeness and freshness
Vinification: The grapes are hand-picked and cooled immediately upon arrival at the winery. After gentle pressing, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature, with partial contact with the lees for better volume. No oak is used to preserve the purity of the variety.
Organoleptic characteristics
Aroma: yellow apple, lemon and indriche
Taste: body with good balance and a flavour that echoes the nose; elegant and fresh, salty finish.
Food pairings: Salads, light dishes, pasta with lighter white sauces and grilled vegetables, soft and more mature cheeses, chicken, fish and seafood. Also suitable as an aperitif.
