Domaine du Vieux Lazaret – a family winery with a long history, founded in 1748 by the Kio family in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region, Southern Rhône, France. The winery has over 200 hectares of vineyards located in 35 different plots, which allows it to create wines with high complexity and character.
Varietal composition:
Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Roussanne
Terroir:
The vineyards are located on clay, sandy and limestone soils, typical of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region. The climate is continental-Mediterranean, with warm summers and cool winters, which provides optimal conditions for growing white grape varieties.
Vinification:
The grapes are hand-picked and undergo careful selection. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, followed by aging on fine lees for 4 months. Malolactic fermentation is not carried out, which preserves the freshness and acidity of the wine.
