This coastal-influenced blend from Adelphi was made to honour the partnership between esteemed whisky writer and industry veteran Charles Maclean and Ardnamurchan distillery. Named after, not only Charles’ nose but by chance, a landmark near the distillery. With a malt content of 70%, this expression offers notes of smoke, lemon zest, brine and fermented bread throughout the palate. On the nose we sense notes of burnt citrus peel, sea salt and campfire combine with hints of nectarine syrup, lime and marmalade. Towards the end, accents of hay bale, coal cellar and crude oil take over. The palate has puffed rice, homemade rice pudding and white chocolate merging into facets of bright lemon and lime with hints of cucumber. Cream and Viennetta ice cream meet hazelnut and chocolate notes towards the end. The finish has burning heather and smoked chocolates.
