Bratanovi Winery – a family boutique winery located in the village of Shishmanovo, in the southern part of the Thracian Lowland, Bulgaria. The winery focuses on the production of small batches of high-quality wines with a pronounced terroir character.
Varietal composition:
50% Merlot, 50% Mavrud
Terroir:
The vineyards are located in the Sakar mountain region, at the foot of the village of Shishmanovo. The soils are mainly clay and limestone, and the climate is moderately continental, with warm summers and cool winters, which provides optimal conditions for growing wine varieties.
Vinification:
The grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel vessels, followed by a short aging on fine lees, which gives the wine additional freshness and structure.
Organoleptic characteristics
Colour: Light pink with slight orange hues.
Aroma: Fresh and intense nose with notes of red fruits such as strawberries and raspberries, combined with slightly floral nuances.
Taste: Light and refreshing, with well-balanced acidity and fruity notes that give the wine smoothness and elegance.
Food pairings:
Excellent with light dishes such as salads, seafood, pasta with slightly creamy sauces, white meats and soft cheeses.

Aging potential:
Up to 2–3 years after harvest, under appropriate storage conditions.
