Orbelia Winery is located at the foot of Belasitsa Mountain, close to the Greek border, and is among the few wineries that work with local varieties from Southwestern Bulgaria. Combining tradition, modern equipment and sustainable viticulture, the winery strives to present the identity of the region through pure and terroir wines.
Varietal composition: Wide Melnik vine
Terroir: The vineyards are located at the foot of Belasitsa Mountain, at an altitude of about 250–300 m, on sandy-cinnamon soils. The region has a typical Mediterranean climate, which provides a long growing season and excellent conditions for varieties such as Melnik.
Vinification: The grapes are hand-picked at technical ripeness and transported in small crates. After a short cold maceration, delicate pressing and fermentation take place in stainless steel vessels at a temperature between 13° and 15°C. The wine is not aged in oak barrels to preserve its freshness and varietal character.
