Ouzo Vi (vita) Aenaon is over 120 years old - it has been produced since the establishment of the distillery.
The name Αέναον was added by the third generation of the Vadana family distillery, which means "eternal", just as Greece and its traditions are eternal, so is Ouzo Vadana with this specific recipe.
It is produced after a high-quality distillation of many seeds and herbs, mainly anise, fennel, star anise and mastic.
During the slow distillation in traditional copper pots, the heads and tails are separated, i.e. the initial and final part of the distillation is removed. Only the "heart" is collected, so that this distillate has a purer and more delicate aroma. The distillate is diluted with crystal clear water from the Erymantou Mountains. After dilution to the desired alcohol content and filtration, it is aged and homogenized for a long period of time before bottling.
Ouzo Vi (vita) Aenaon is soft, light and pleasant. Its sweet aroma and cool, refined taste dominate.
It is drunk with water or with ice, and for some traditionalists who want to discover its primary aromas - > slowly and cleanly. The ice water gives the ouzo the right temperature and it acquires the characteristic emulsion that everyone loves so much.
It goes well with seafood such as shrimp, octopus, squid, anchovies, sardines, but also with larger fish, as well as with various Greek cheeses such as feta, kefalotiri, ladotiri, graviera and of course with rich salads in various combinations and other delicious dishes from Greek cuisine.
It can also be consumed as a "long drink" with the discreet presence of fresh ingredients such as mint, basil, cucumber, orange, lemon.

The first detail worth knowing is that it is best to add the water first and then the ice. By following this sequence, you will enjoy ouzo in the best way,
as the temperature gradually decreases and all its aromas are released properly.
