Made by: LaRojeña Distillery – a heritage producer founded in 1812 in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Jose Cuervo is the best-selling tequila in the world and is a symbol of tradition, classics and large-scale production with many years of experience.
Varietal composition: Mixed (mixto) tequila: minimum 51% blue agave, the rest starch or sugar alcohol extracts. Not 100% agave.
Terroir: Agave grown on family plantations in the Jalisco region, on volcanic, mineral-rich soils. The climate is subtropical with hot days and cool nights, ideal for ripe agave hearts.
Vinification:
Distillation in traditional, familiar apparatus in two cycles. Following Cuervo methods, the drink is bottled quickly without additional maceration or aging in barrels. This gives it a clean, fresh structure and light color.
Organoleptic characteristics
Color: Crystal clear, without coloring or oak influence.
Aroma: Pure agave notes with subtle nuances of caramel and fresh herbs.
Taste: Fresh and sharp taste with light notes of roasted agave, sandalwood and spices.
Finish: Soft, slightly sweet and buttery, with a warm feeling and a short aftertaste.
Food pairings:
Suitable for shots neat or iced, a great base for cocktails such as Margarita, Tequila Sunrise or Mule. Also suitable for fresh drinks with agave syrup and citrus.
Serving temperature: 6–8°C (chilled), ideal for direct consumption or mixes.
