Kavalan is a Taiwanese single malt whisky, named by Scottish experts “The Alien from
the Far East". It is produced at the King Car distillery located in Taiwan, and the first bottle is
sold in 2008. The distillery was founded in 2005 after the production monopoly was abolished
of alcohol in Taiwan and King Car became the first distillery to start producing elite single malt whisky.
Kavalan is made using Scottish technology, but the secret of its success lies in the distillation and in the tropical Taiwanese climate,
which allows the drink to reach incredible heights after aging. The result is an amazingly smooth whiskey
with an ethereal light and fruity taste, with exotic notes of coconut and marzipan.
