Tamnavulin is a distillery founded in 1966, located in the heart of Speyside, a region renowned for its smooth, fruity and elegant single malt whiskies. The distillery combines traditional Scottish techniques with experimental cask finishing to create a unique flavour and aroma.
The whisky is initially matured in American oak casks (ex-bourbon) and then finished in sherry casks, which give it a deep, rich and fruity character, with warm caramel and spice notes.
Aroma
A rich and complex nose with hints of dried fruit, figs, red cherry, combined with caramel, chocolate and light oak nuances.
Taste
A soft, full and balanced taste with intense fruit tones of red and black fruits, complemented by spices, vanilla and a slight nutty feel.
The finish is long, warm and rich, with residual sweet and full sherry nuances.
Suitable combinations
Great for consumption neat, with a few drops of water or ice.
Goes great with dark chocolate, dried fruits, nuts or hard cheeses.
