The most awarded rum in the world, Plantation HO 20th Anniversary, with over 60 awards from exhibitions, earned for its exceptional qualities and artisanal approach, serves to highlight Plantation’s distinctive method of aging rum distillates.
This rich and complex rum, following the traditional style of Maison Ferrand, was aged after distillation first on the shores of the brilliant turquoise Caribbean Sea in the tropical climate of Barbados (the birthplace of rum) in white American oak barrels, then transported by sea in the original barrels to southwest France and transferred for a second period of aging in ex-Ferrand cognac barrels now in the temperate, continental climate of France. After the second period of aging, a new, third one follows --> with special attention to the producers of sweet Pedro Jimenez sherry wine from the region of Andalusia (Spain), Planterey RH HO, ages for an additional and prolonged period (several months), again in a continental climate, in elegant ex-Pedro Jimenez barrels, which have given aromas and flavors of nuts and dried fruits, as well as an extremely voluminous and rounded finish. This new, third period of aging also gives a new dimension to our most awarded rum and is an exceptional delight for fans of the drink and those who are about to become fans.
