Quinta Picos do Couto is a traditional Portuguese producer from the Douro Valley, specializing in the creation of high-quality port wines that combine centuries of experience and a modern touch.
Grape variety: Malvasia Fina, Viosinho, Gouveiro and Rabigato
Terroir: The vineyards are located on the terraced slopes of the Douro River, on shale and sandy soils. The sunny climate and the sharp diurnal amplitudes contribute to concentrated aromas and natural freshness in the grapes.
Vinification: After hand-picking, the grapes are gently pressed, and fermentation is interrupted by the addition of grape spirit. The wine is aged in large oak barrels to preserve its lightness and fruit profile.
