Orbelia Winery is located at the foot of the Belasitsa Mountain near the village of Kolarovo (Petrich). The project focuses on natural technologies and experimental methods in order to preserve the authenticity of local varieties and terroir.
Variety: Sandanski Misket
Terroir: The vineyards are at an altitude of about 250m in the Struma Valley. The soils are sandy-clay with limestone inclusions, and the climate is continental, with large daily amplitudes, which help the accumulation of aroma and freshness.
Vinification: The method is méthode ancestrale - the grapes are picked slightly unripe, first fermentation in stainless steel, then the second fermentation takes place in a bottle with a crown cap. The wine ages for 6 months on the lees, then is disgorged and topped up with the new harvest. No added sulfites, sugar or yeast.
Organoleptic characteristics
Color: Golden green with fine, creamy perlage.
Aroma: Delicately fruity – green apple and autumn pear, complemented by a fresh citrus accent.
Taste: Lively, with dense acidity and a long juicy finish, with a fresh and appetizing aftertaste.
Food pairings: A wonderful aperitif, goes well with fresh salads, fish, seafood and light appetizers.
Serving temperature: 4°–6°C
