Bandung 22 is a pandan liqueur created in 2019 and produced in the Netherlands, made from pandan leaves and Asian spices. It is known for its exotic unique aroma, taste and bright color --> a true Dutch delight with an authentic Asian flavor.
Pandan is a herbaceous tropical plant (similar to a palm tree) native to Southeast Asia, specifically Malaysia and Indonesia, rarely found in the wild and mostly cultivated. In these countries, pandan is an everyday food, and nowadays it is increasingly making its way into Western cuisine. Pandan leaves have long, narrow, green leaves that are used to color, aromatize and flavor foods and drinks. They can be used fresh, dried, as a paste or as an extract, making them versatile in various dishes, and when cooked, they have a nutty, floral, sweet taste and are often described as "Asian vanilla".
Fresh pandan leaves are used to make this exotic liqueur, and to balance the taste and to reinforce its unique and unconventional exotic character, four other herbs are added: cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and nutmeg.
