Villa Yustina – a family winery located in the Thracian Lowlands, Bulgaria. The winery is distinguished by careful work with the vineyards and the use of modern technologies for the production of wines with a pronounced terroir character.
Varietal composition: The main varieties for the winery’s red special wines include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah (the exact composition for the 2017 Special Reserve is determined by the harvest).
Terroir: The vineyards are located in a region with sandy-clay soils and a temperate continental climate with warm summer months and cool nights. This helps to develop the fruity and complex character of the grapes.
Vinification: The grapes are hand-picked and undergo strict selection. After careful maceration, fermentation takes place under controlled conditions. The wine is aged in oak barrels for a period that gives complexity, structure and final notes of vanilla and spices.
