Bratanovi Winery is a small family winery located near the village of Shishmanovo in South Sakar. It works entirely with its own vineyards, grown with care for the terroir and sustainable agriculture. It produces limited edition wines with a focus on varietal purity and elegance.
Varietal composition: Syrah
Terroir: The vineyards are located on the southern slopes of Sakar Mountain on sandy-clay soils, poor in organic matter, but with excellent drainage. The region is known for its warm continental climate, long sunshine and windy conditions, which contribute to ripe and concentrated grapes.
Vinification: The grapes are hand-picked and fermented at a controlled temperature with prolonged contact with the skins. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, some of which are new, in order to extract structure and complexity.
Organoleptic characteristics
Aroma: Intense aroma of ripe black fruits, violets, black pepper and light notes of vanilla and toasted wood.
Taste: Dense and concentrated body with ripe tannins, spicy character and a long, warm finish with a hint of chocolate.
Food pairing: Suitable for game, veal ribs or long-aged cheese.
Serving temperature: 16°–18°C
Aging potential: Up to 7 years after harvest
