Maison Renard is a traditional Burgundian producer specializing in wines from the prestigious Côtes de Nuits region. The winery works with high-end vineyards, including the Premier Cru designation, relying on classic Burgundian style, precision and minimal intervention to highlight the authentic character of the Pinot Noir variety and the terroir.
Terroir
The Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru vineyards are located on some of the most highly regarded hills of the Côtes de Nuits. The soils are rich in limestone, marl and clay, which gives structure, minerality and the characteristic depth of Pinot Noir. The climate is cool and continental, with a long growing season, ensuring complexity, freshness and elegance in the wines.
Vinification
Hand picking and selection of grapes.
Cold maceration to extract aromas and color.
Fermentation in small temperature-controlled tanks.
Aged in oak barrels (partly new) for finesse, structure and complexity.
Minimal intervention to preserve the terroir expression.
