Vie Di Romance is a prestigious family winery located in the heart of the Friuli region - one of the most famous areas in Italy for white wines. The winery is known for its philosophy of terroir expression and minimal intervention in vinification, with the “Pierre” series coming from the eponymous plot with a pronounced mineral character.
Varietal composition: Sauvignon Blanc
Terroir: The vineyards are located near the town of Mariano del Friuli, at about 30–35 meters above sea level, on stony-clay soils, rich in minerals and silica inclusions. The climate is temperate-continental with pronounced daily temperature differences and good ventilation from the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, which ensures a long growing season and preservation of freshness and acidity in the grapes.
Vinification: The grapes are hand-picked at the end of August. After a short cold maceration, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature to preserve freshness and varietal characteristics. The wine is aged for about 8 months on fine lees, without malolactic fermentation, to achieve a balance between aromatic purity and structure.
