Alois Lageder – a family-run biodynamic winery located in the Alto Adige (South Tyrol) region of Northern Italy. The winery is known for its sustainable practices and attention to terroir, working closely with winemakers from the Dolomites to create wines that reflect the unique character of this region.
Varietal composition:
100% Pinot Grigio
Terroir:
The vineyards are located in the Dolomites, in the Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT and Alto Adige regions, at an altitude of between 200 and 300 meters above sea level. The soils are calcareous-dolomitic with good drainage. The climate is Alpine-Mediterranean - with cool nights and warm days, which contributes to the freshness and minerality of the wines.
Vinification:
The grapes are hand-picked and undergo a gentle selection. Fermentation takes place spontaneously (with its own yeast) at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine ages for about 9 months on the fine lees for additional texture and depth.
