The vineyard is located on hills in the area of the village of Nikolaevo, Eastern Thrace Valley, Bulgaria. At the foot of Stara Planina at 300 m above sea level, the grapes benefit from the cool air flow and the good temperature amplitude between day and night during the ripening season. The soil is mostly clay mixed with gravel and limestone. Both grape varieties are processed and fermented together in temperature-controlled stainless vessels. The finished wine is aged on the fine lees for 6–8 months, acquiring character, volume and structure. In order to maintain maximum freshness, the wine does not go through malolactic fermentation.
