Introducing the third chapter in the Torabhaig Legacy Series, Cnoc Na Moine. A testament to the distillery’s continuous evolution and unyielding commitment to craftsmanship, this expression ventures boldly into new territories with its debut use of sherry casks, elevating the complexity and richness of our peated single malt. Cnoc Na Moine, translating to ‘hill of peat’ from Gaelic, embodies the essence of its namesake with a composition that mirrors the dramatic and untamed beauty of Skye. Matured in a distinctive combination of Bourbon American Oak, Oloroso, and Pedro Ximenez casks, this release marries the robust peatiness Torabhaig is renowned for with rich sherry notes, culminating in a darker, more profound hue On the nose we can sense slightly subdued peat smoke backed by hints of orange peel, tangy fruit, and a whiff of dying embers. A touch of vanilla sweetness, and some freshly sawn oaky spice.

The peat returns on the palate with more of a BBQ note, before the spirit brings in some pepper, a light balsamic acidity and more sweetness and gentle spice. Fragrant touches of cedar and leather, with the sherry casks adding some depth. On the finish the sherry influences are a wonderful light touch, showing themselves in harmonious balance with Torabhaig’s integrated peat and spice structure which shines through.
